Being a huge Buster Keaton fan I was thrilled to see the DVD release of some of his earliest films with Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle. This was a double bonus for a silent comedy geek like me. I'm not one to gloat, but I picked Obama to win way back when he was battling Sen. Clinton. In the last few weeks I was telling anyone who would listen that it would be an Obama landslide, but they all thought I was crazy especially my Democrat friends. I guess they are just used to disappointment. Anyway, congratulations President Obama!

When I walked by Gladys Knight and Ron Winans' Chicken & Waffles today I at first thought that it was a joke. Then I realized who much money and dedication it would take to pull off that kind of gag and surmised that it is real.

I've resisted commenting on the current financial crisis, because honestly the economy is like Chinese algebra to me. That's why I look toward leaders like George W. I don't know what I love more about this "documentary", the 50's style Mental Hygiene narrator, the description of slam dancing as a "macabre dance of despair, violently hitting each other instead of the outside world", or the idea of a "De-Punking Center."

My bro-in-low K. introduced me to this band Zzz who had played the club he worked for. Is this video not brilliant?
