one year ago today, i got a call informing me that one of my best friends had died. an untimely death, how doesn't matter as much. it still sits hard with me today, i still feel like i could have been a better friend to him and some how he could have been alive today. Thus far, new years has been pretty good. Came up to kirkwood CA late thrusday, got up Friday am early to go for a hike. Its been a long time sence i have done an alpine hike. so i packed a bunch of good stuff and headed up the mountain early. This morning i got up to take Stienbeck to the airport. I was already half way up to san francisco so i figured what the heck, I'll just go hang out up there for the day. So, went back to the doctor for my follow-up this am. Ran around on a treadmill for a while, had wires and was subjected to poking and prodding. So, other than needing more exercise everything appears normal. The last week has been very... interesting to say the least. Friday was my last day at the dealership for the season. Now I will be traveling across the USA again doing the auto show gig. When i got up this morning, i could smell the redwoods :) That moist pine smell on a cool morning. Smells are so neat. They really remind me of previous points in my life.
