• I went to Broadstairs over the weekend with Ruth & Paul to spend some time by the sea in the wind, and so I wouldn't have to do any work for a couple of days. It was windswept and lovely and we walked a long long way and ate a lot.

Well, Ruth joined me last night to go back up to keep an eye on mum, and we all had an ambulance-free night. She was feeling much better and laughing and joking and not really choking much more than normal and stuff. It was good. My sister makes her laugh. It is awesome ( Read more... )

I am *still* in Birmingham. Mum is now finally discharged, cannula free and is asleep on the sofa. She is drinking fluids and stuff and probably won't die.
I will hopefully (providing we don't have any more 3am paramedic visits) be on a train tomorrow morning and in work for the afternoon.
I will then get drunk.

Not sure when I'm back, maybe tomorrow night. Phone nearly out of juice, charger in the office. Clever.

4 hours sleep since Tuesday 6am = not great. Otherwise mostly unscathed.

I am going to throw some money at my dentist to get my extraction moved to tomorrow.
I have an appointment at 12.30, and i'm booking the whole day off.

I'm scared and poor, but am looking forward to being slightly more toothless. And to dropping my codeine habit.

Saw special dentist type person that my NHS dentist referred me to. Have another 5 days of antibiotics which will hopefully deal with the pain for a while.
They said that although they can keep me on the cancellations list, it would probably be 3 months wait for treatment if I want it for free under my current NHS treatment batch.
