Transmission went out on me while I was going 50 mph on 290. The car's speed had dropped to 30 mph by the time I managed to weave across five lanes of traffic and the paths of 3 semis to get the car to the off ramp at Higgins Road. Watched Twilight last night and now am filled with despair. I hate sci-fi and fantasy that refuses to develop characters. The only thing worse than that is sci fi/ fantasy that doesn't bother with character development is sci-fi and fantasy that also doesn't bother with world development or a decent plot. I have self-diagnosed myself with sciatica because I have shooting pains that extend from my lower back to my calf. Sciatica seems to be oblivious to over the counter pain medication. I hate things that will go away eventually but are oblivious to home remedies. But then, sciatica seems to be oblivious to everything. I'm doubly frustrated ( Read more... )

There are times when I think the copyright laws are too stringent.  I'm reading about Shepard Fairey's
use of an AP photo to create the Obama poster. Yes, Fairey shouldn't have lied, but clearly he does convert the photo into an entirely new work of art, so AP should have never tried to claim his profits for the work in the first place. Art is not ( Read more... )
