Future proofing the music.
The fairly ancient stereo in the sitting room is declining to play CDs. We could of course replace it, but then there's an issue of cassettes. It's getting increasingly difficult to get any kind of cassette player ( Read more... ) -
Printer
Assuming the newly-acquired monster (well, A3) printer works as it should, I shall have a spare printer around shortly. It's a HP Business Inkjet 1100D, A4, separate ink tanks, in good nick but several years old. opening links
I don't care if it's deprecated by those who are wont to deprecate, I'd prefer it if LJ opened links in a new tab or a new window, then I wouldn't keep closing it by mistake after I look at the link. -
bloody weather
bloody washing machine. fecking pump is at the bottom and has water in it, which is frozen. This wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the fact that it's now full to the brim with water. You'd thing that it'd have the nouse to realise that it wasn't pumping out before it got to adding the rinsing water and making it overflow through the soap -

quality isn't fantastic thanks to the camera, which won't do enough auto-bracketing without reducing the image quality. Better results would come from doing landscapes like that manually, or of course from a better camera, but that ain't ( Read more... ) -
Puzzled
How come this machine won't do "remember me" in LJ?
Since I first noticed this, it's had windows XP replaced with windows 7 and a whole new install. It has got the same browser profile, admittedly, as before. But I deleted the cookie before, so it could reset it, and it made no difference. Unless, I suppose, there's ANOTHER cookie.
