Tomorrow I go back into hospital for a second knee operation. The surgeon believes that scar tissue formed inside my knee after the first operation, which is why I still walk with a limp and cannot fully straighten or bend my right leg

I watched the first part of a great mini-series "Flood" on TV last night. It was about what would happen to London if a severe storm surge, combined with a high tide, overwhelmed the Thames barrier and flooded Central London

Yesterday I had an appointment with the surgeon who performed my knee operation. He said the knee looked good and was healing well. Since my job involves a lot of standing and walking, he signed me off work for another week

Well, my knee surgery went smoothly. I spent the night in hospital after the operation; it was a nice modern private hospital (all paid for by the NZ ACC scheme), so the care was very good
