I thought it might be humorous to try the "I Write Like" thing out, so I tested a bunch of my LJ entries. I came up with Stephen King for most of the happier entries, Dan Brown for some of the angstier entries, Chuck Palahniuk randomly a couple of times, and H.P. -- Talked to my manager at work today. He's fairly certain (he said, "Yeah, we can do that") that I can take the time off I'd need to for DPW *and* be able to keep my job. We're not busy at all when school is not in session, you see, and for the bulk of DPW, school is out, which means they'd need to cut baristas and shifts for that time anyway.
