A duck by the sea
These weren't taken in my backyard, but down on the south coast of England a few years back. I've been trying to identify the bird more recently, and I'm not sure. It could be a teal, possibly juvenile or in moult, but if anyone here can identify I'd be very grateful because I'm really not sure!

Female blackbird
How many sultanas can a female blackbird get in her beak? Far more than seems possible to me!! But she's got babies to feed back in the nest, so the more the better in one go!

Death from above!
Crows have nested on our street for some time, but this is the first time that they have been aggressive. It may be more than one pair of crows too! They have been swooping by the front and back of the house, and it's fair to say that they know where I live ( Read more... ) -
Sunbathing Great Tit !!
Not the best photos as I was inside with the door closed and didn't want to move closer to the door in case it flew off. But still, nice to see a great tit deciding that our bird table is THE place to sunbathe!!

Bird Drama
We have had lots of crows and magpies in our neighbourhood for years, but I swear today was the first time that I actually saw a raven. I was out walking with my friends when we saw some birds dive bombing in the distance. As we walked along and came closer, the birds turned out to be crows and magpies trying to chase off a raven. Hungarian partridges
So, fortunately, my next update is positive. I spotted a pair of Hungarian or grey partridges under our front window yesterday. I had noticed this pair the other week as they ran across someone else's lawn. As I got off the bus stop I thought there was some garbage or something on the lawn. Nope!
