Who knew that going back to Cali could be so rough?

After a full day of running around frantically at work, the likes of which I haven't seen since I started there, I finally did the mad dash to the airport to board the first of two flights back to California:  Philly to Salt Lake City.  Salt Lake City to Oakland.

Ten minutes until the laundry is done.  45 minutes on the exercise bike. Four days until my next term paper is due.  3 weeks until I fly back to California.

My life, at the moment, feels like a series of scheduled numbers and statistics.

So, it turns out that I like being a paper pusher.  I like not having a lot of job stress.  I like being busy during the day and accomplishing things but then not having to work around tightly wound people or having to make uncomfortable decisions.

Tomorrow is my last "regular" day as an unemployed person.  I leave for Disney on Sunday, will be there all next week, and then I start the new job on the 30th.  It feels a little strange.  Today I worked on some stuff, but mostly was lazy.  I'm torn between wanting to maximize my remaining time before I start working, i.e. fill every minute of ( Read more... )

Yesterday morning, a younger girl applied tape to my nipples and arranged my breasts on a tray.  It was a helluva way to start the morning.

For an unemployed person, I had a lot on my plate the past few days.  I was in Dallas for the greater part of last week, visiting with my aunt and gram.  I helped my aunt get her ads on etsy up and running, which meant lots of jewelry photographs and a bit of creative writing.  It turned out rather good, I think- she's already sold one piece!    ( Read more... )

So, in the wee hours of Sunday morning, our large tiger-tabby, Arjuna, was walking across the back of our pillows to look out the window.  Bob must have shifted, or pushed him to the side because Arjuna fell.  Right into Bob's right eye.  Claw first.

Tonight, driving home on Route 30, 2 dogs jumped through a break in traffic to cross the road.  This always upsets me, even when nobody gets hurt, because my mind jumps ahead to what I believe is going to be the inevitable tragedy.
