I know you all wanted photos, and I was all set to upload some, but no. The B&B's wifi is too slow for LJ's already slow uploading. Since the B&B is on the cathedral green in Wells, meaning I am looking at the front of the cathedral through my window, and it's also across the street from a great Indian restaurant, I forgive it.

Hi flist, I'm now in Penzance. Pirates seem to be lacking. I've been driving around for 3 days now, and I have to say driving on the left is nothing, nothing, compared to navigating one-"lane" streets with two-way traffic in tiny villages and parking in what passes for a car park at my hotel here. Tomorrow I head out on the road, but I've had a pleasant time in London. Two real days and one day spent mostly in bed. I had so much to do the night before my flight that I actually did not go to bed. I slept off and on from SF to Chicago, but then couldn't sleep from Chicago to London, by which point anyway my body was seriously annoyed with me. ( Read more... )

This 12 of 12 was my dad's 70th birthday. I flew to San Antonio to hang out for the weekend. We actually ended up celebrating with my stepmom's family the next night (at The Olive Garden). My car is going to be totaled. Turns out it had suspension damage as well as body: before the shop even touched it, they estimated the repairs at $10,500. I found out yesterday, today I got all my things out (hopefully I got all of them!), by the end of the week I get the money, a week from today I fly to San Antonio. • Boring year overall. I love James Franco, but he acted like a presenter, not a host. 
• Anne Hathaway tried, but didn't do much better. Also, HOW many dresses can a girl wear in one evening? Reminded me of college parties, esp ones with Marc Fong. Anne didn't have a special matching cocktail glass for each dress, but maybe that comes later.
