Every year when the siren turns on (or goes off?) my immediate reaction is a flashback to the days of the gulf war when I was 7 years old. I don't think that you have PTSD. First of all - does it cause you significant distress? Maybe the flashback would, but it's only once a year?

I would explain more about it...but I'm tired. Read my post to find out why.

not PSTD. it's just classical conditioning, i think. you were trained to associate that sound with a particular event and now you can't help but thinking of that event when you hear the sound. Did you learn about Pavlov and his dogs in Mavo? He was able to train them to have their mouths start watering at the sound of a bell, because by having a bell ring enough times while they were fed, they learned to associate the sound with food. something like that.

Yeah, you're right, now I remember. We did learn the whole lemida thing. I think that trauma is just a severe case of conditioning. Anyway, cool that the material is still somewhat fresh in your mind.
