And so I'm wasting another weekend.  Wasting full weeks, really.  I don't know what I'm doing here.

Can't sleep, so thought I'd start filling out federal taxes.  Apparently there's a delay on the Schedule A form needed for itemizing deductions on your 1040, but I only use two lines from Schedule A anyway (state income tax & charitable donations), so I filled out my 2010 forms as if I were using 2009's Schedule A ( Read more... )

Highly necessary Chicago trip tomorrow.  Like Clem from ESotSM says, "I'm crawling out of my fucking skin."  Seeing good friends will be nice.

Would be even nicer if the Colts were still playing, but you can't always get what you want.

Welp, I've now regained the good sense to be properly mortified by the level of angst I habitually display here.  Doesn't make anything said less true, but does mean I should probably just get a dog.

In short:

Bad quality = angst.
Good quality = self-deprecation.

Let's just call it a wash until next time.

With iPod, TV, and the internet, you can never be lonely, right?

What a beautiful weekend.  So glad my family was up to enjoy it with me.

But right now, I'm being haunted by a verse from a Donald Justice poem I read in a short story:

Men at forty
Learn to close softly
The doors to rooms they will not be
Coming back to.

I'm not 40, but that simple little verse is doing a brilliant job evoking sadness, for me at least.

This is probably only relevant to Gina, but I've recently become enamored with... wait for it... "House."

My roommate has slowly but surely indoctrinated me with* the brilliant ways of House by cleverly playing the most engrossing episodes while I'm innocently surfing the web on the couch.
