Head WiP
It's been so long since I posted something here. Progress had been slow on the head, and I really didn't like how it looked unglued and unshaven. But here it is, almost completed:

Back to work
So, I had a little freakout.
I've been on art communities long enough to know about them, and while I certainly never expected to be immune to them, I just never really thought about myself as an artist before, and about having to deal with the insecurities that come with the turf. The wings wouldn't fit in any type of otc suitcase, so I built a flightcase out of plywood for them. I just took the maximum measurements of the wings and created a rectangle... not realising it would sort of resemble an infant-sized coffin when it was done. (Which is double the fun when sharing a floor and courtyard with a daycare centre.)

Arse gravy
It's been far too long since I updated. I have been getting stuff done, just not taking the time to post about it; previously, I would post these journals from my office job. But since I have been cutting back hours on that job to work on the suit, it's been harder to find the time for websurfing.
Anyway, here is a picture of today's fail: the eyes.

Updates
Got some progress shots of things that are nearing completion: The wings are close to being done; all that is left is gluing the tips back on (will wait till everything else is done, no sense in knocking them off again), and painting the zebra stripes on the fur. Tail test (video link)
If you guys remember, I was making a zebra Gargoyle costume. I didn't get off my behind nearly enough during the winter, but made some progress again now that it's spring (and I have a spacious new workplace) - the first part, the tail, is done!

Tail completed
Moving into the new workplace is paying off! Spending a lot of time there, and finally getting stuff done again. Even finished the first segment: the tail! I'm not 100% happy with it, but it will have to do for now. Looking back at the photos, it reminds me more of a raccoon than anything else.

A tailsworth of tuft
Not much of an update, to be honest. Just as much about trying out posting from the ipad.
Been spending time on furring the tail this weekend. Patterning for a recurving tail is a bitch, let me tell you.

I aten't dead yet.
Progress has been slow, if not non-existant in december and january. Recently I've slowly begun working again. Don't have that much new to show you yet, just a badly lit photo of the wings in their current state. Been finalising them; furring, adding claws and the membrane that attaches to the back.
