Boxing Day is always my day of rest. After all the cooking, baking, cleaning, shopping and gift wrapping, I'm exhausted. But then my family suggested a trip to the bookstore, and maybe Best Buy. Technically it's Christmas Eve now, although it's still the early hours (4 a.m.). My Christmas preparations aren't quite where I'd like them to be, but on the other hand, they're not bad. I really do give up on trying to understand pricing decisions as far as hardcover books and ebooks go. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to them. I just had a great thought. If my daughter goes to the U.K. to do her Master's (and there's a good chance she will), she'll be there during the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary year! Went for some tests yesterday. They used sedation, and supposedly put an amnesiac in the sedative, but if so, it didn't work very well because I have very clear (and unpleasant) memories. However, the tests were necessary, and hopefully soon they'll be able to figure out why my hemoglobin and iron counts continue to bottom out ( Read more... )

I went to see a specialist today and it went really well.  He gave me some good advice, and was easy to talk to.  I was concerned though when he wanted to start me on hormones, because I have been told in the past (by doctors) that I should never take hormones because of my family history of breast cancer and because I get hormone-triggered ( Read more... )
