I really want to keep my machine non-dairy. and i use soy milk which works just fine. however some recipes call for dried milk.

does anyone know of a soy substitute that could work for this or any advice on how to work around it?

i'm also in the works on trying out bagels. my favorite place in nyc now charges a 1.30 for a bagel. sheesh.

So when you want to use the bread machine to make the dough but you want to bake the loaf in your oven how would you adjust the recipe? I don't know how I'd begin to guess on baking time and temp if I'm not told specifically what to do. :P

I have The Biggest Book Of Bread Machine Recipes. On page 206, is the recipe for Double Chocolate Bread, which I tried to make, this morning. On the opposite page is Chocolate-Cashew Loaf. I hate cashews. My husband dislikes them. We're not a nut-friendly house.

So I got a bread machine for Christmas (yay!) and I am still learning to be not afraid of it! It's a Black & Decker All-in-One and it's huge! It makes 2, 2/12, or 3 lb loaves. It even makes jams! I didn't even think that was possible. O__O ( Read more... )

Do any of you have a dough recipe that has measurements in weight rather than cups?  I tried to convert my bread recipe to weight (just the flour) in order to get the exact same results each time I bake.  The dough came out too wet and heavy.  Should I weigh all ingredients or just the dry?  My machine makes 1.5 pound loaves but I often use it to ( Read more... )
