you know, in my experience, when i looked back on little films we took of the eldest as a baby, in terms of posterity, it was the incidental capturing of the adults around him that was the most fascinating. at the time we were so focussed on him, but how we'd all changed over time was a surprise years later. don't forget to linger a bit on yourselves!
Yes you're probably right. We normally don't make a point of photographing ourselves, especially those of us who are less photogenic. Of course it always makes for entertaining viewing to see time warped styles.
But now that Dali is the last, I am starting to panic and am tying to make sure we get some nudie pics in there for posterity. Toddlers and babies have the most beautiful bodies.
Yes the evolution of it all. Kahlil starts out with a photo album which Hamish essentially misses out on because the pics are virtual. Then we got the videocam last year and now there'll be no stopping us I'm sure.
That depends on when you're coming to visit Melbourne. We have just got back from Adelaide for yet another WOMAD. I think I need your address so I can send some stuff that I want to get burned... we bought 8 CDs!!! Loved Fat Freddy's drop and Kronos Quartet/Asha Boshle. Missed Gotan Project/ Lilla Downs. Met A's parents who said she's seeing off M in Melbourne... was hoping to catch up. Do you have any plans regarding your movements or are you hanging loose?
Oooh sounds fantastic! Given how much 'stuff' I'm accumulating which I'll have to get home maybe I should wait and give you my address when I find a new home back in Adelaide? I'm pretty much based in Reading until the end of June with a few trips here and there as I can manage it, but I probably won't be back in Adelaide until early August. Don't know when I'll next be over your way but I'll let you know when it happens. I may be flying back in through Melbourne but I don't think I really have any stop-over time, so it will have to wait for another trip.
