Congrats :D I can't see the facebook pictures, but I am glad that he had a safe (and very welcome) entry into the world, and that you stuck with your guts :)

It seemed so unfair to have planned a natural birth, gone past 42 weeks, endured SPD pain since April, all to end up with a medicalized birth in the end. There is something so wrong about that and I was devastated. But my baby’s health, not my ideals, were my primary concern.

This was my story exactly, even down to the SPD. I had to get to the point in my head where proving that my body knows what to do is no longer the most important goal. It was hard to get past that, but I did decide to go in for Pit at 42w 1d. And even though I was disappointed that I was no longer having a *completely* natural birth, I did still avoid an epidural or any other pain meds so I have that to feel good about.
You did awesome, I did awesome, we did awesome... yay for mommas who have the patience to cook their babies a little longer than most :)
