Happy Memorial Day, everyone.

The first week of school here went pretty well for Ran. She likes going to school, and she's already starting to pick up some English. She says the other kids are nice to her, and that there's a couple of girls that play with her at recess, so I think she's on her way to making friends even with the language barrier. Ran seems to be settling in pretty well here. I brought her home about a week ago, and I took the past week off of work so that we could spend some time getting to know each other. She's excited to be here, but she misses her friends, too. Bedtime is hard for her. She doesn't like going to sleep by herself in her own room, not after being in a dorm ( Read more... )
