Sam Winchester opened his front door upon hearing the door bell ring. On the front porch of his house stood his older brother Dean.

“Hey,” Sam greeted his brother with a friendly smile. “Come in.”

The two men stepped inside and went into the living room.

“Want some coffee or something?” Sam asked as Dean seated himself on the sofa.

“Beer would be nice,” Dean said hopefully. “If you got it.”

He felt like he needed a drink after the day he`d had.

Sam nodded as he moved towards the kitchen. “I`ll take a look. I`m currently limiting the amount of alcohol in the house, now that Laura`s pregnant again. Solidarity, you know?”

Sam`s voice grew slightly fainter as he moved into the other room, and from his place on the sofa, Dean listened to the small exchange going on between his little brother and his wife Laura.

“Have we got any oranges, love?” Laura asked. Dean heard her open the fridge door.

“I went to the store two days ago and picked up 2 KGs,” Sam answered. “There should be some left, unless you`ve managed to wolf them all down. I haven`t touched them,” he said, a teasing tone to his voice.

A moment later, Sam came back from the kitchen, his hands empty. “Sorry, Dean. No beer today. Is coffee alright?”

“We got tea!” Laura called from the kitchen. “I`ll put the kettle on, shall I?”

“Dean doesn`t drink tea, darling,” Sam reminded his wife.

“All the more for me then,” Laura said. “And the baby,” she added with a small giggle.

Sam smiled as he sat down next to Dean on the sofa, forgetting all about offering his brother beverages upon noticing the look on his face.

“You alright, man?”

Before Dean could answer, Laura appeared in the kitchen doorway.

“Hey, there`s my favorite English woman!” Dean grinned at her, and she smiled back, her fingers busy peeling an orange. She offered Dean a taste.

When he declined, Laura smiled and explained: “It`s the pregnancy. I get these odd cravings.” She popped a piece of the orange into her mouth and ran a hand down her round belly. “It`s worse this time. The cravings, I mean. They weren`t as bad when I was pregnant with Emily Elizabeth.”

Dean looked at her. “You carry it well. The baby. Being pregnant suits you.”

Laura gave a small sigh as she seated herself on the armrest of the sofa. “That may be, but I think being pregnant twice is enough for me. Don`t you agree, Sam?”

She ran a hand across her husband`s dark brown head as he placed his large hand on her belly and rubbed it gently.

“I mean it, though,” Dean carried on. “You look great, Laura. When Melissa was pregnant, she looked like a fat hippo. Both times!”

Sam`s head snapped around to face his brother. “Dude.”

“She did,” Laura nodded, smiling, and then Sam couldn`t help chuckling.

“So where is my little niece?” Dean asked.

“Sleeping,” Sam answered.

“And that`s the way she`ll remain for a while yet,” Laura cut in.

“Don`t you think I should check on her?” Sam offered.

His wife shook her head, her blonde locks bobbing about her pretty face. “You`ll just wake her up. Let her sleep.” She gave him a loving smile and kissed him quickly. “You`re such a fussy Daddy, always worrying.”

Dean cleared his throat, wanting to remind the two lovebirds that he was in the room too. He was very happy for his little brother, but it also hurt to observe the lovely couple. It reminded him too much of the better days in his and Melissa’s relationship. The days that was long gone.

Laura got up, cradling her orange in her hand.

“I`ll go take a bath. Give you two a chance to chew the fat.”

When Laura had exited, Sam turned to his brother.

“So, did you want to talk to me about something special? Something happen?”

Dean glanced at his hands. “Nah, I`m fine.”

Sam snorted. “Yeah, I`m not buying.”

Dean hesitated, just for a moment, before mumbling: “Oh man, the day I`ve had, Sammy.”

“I`m all ears, Dean.”
