What was the last book you read? I re-read a couple of my favorites, Mairelon the Magician and its sequel, The Magician's Ward by Patricia C. Wrede. They take place during the Regency era in an alternate universe where wizards are known.
Do you still own any books from your childhood? Tons! I am a hoarder, and I still enjoy YA fiction, so why get rid of it when I can re-read it!
Have you seen any recent movies that were books? The last book my students read before the school year finished was A Wrinkle in Time, and, man, was that movie AWFUL! Even Alfre Woodard couldn't save it! I think the most challenging part of making it would've been casting a young actor to play 5-year-old genius Charles Wallace, and I think they actually did okay on that behalf. And Aunt Beast looked like a Wookie. XD
They are really fun, some of my favorite books overall. The only caveat I have is that the main character is supposed to be from the London stews, so the author writes in dialect whenever she speaks, and it can be a little overwrought. It never particularly bothered me, but when I recommended them to a friend of mine, she couldn't get through the first book because it annoyed her so much!
What was the last book you read? The Children of Henry VIII, by Alison Weir. It wasn't my favorite of her books, but I still got some good info out of it. And I am rather a fan of Weir's in general, so I'm never overly disappointed by her books. Of your favourite books, which one do you like to recommend to people? - I ALWAYS recommend Beauty, by Robin McKinley. It's my favorite book in the entire world. It's a first-person re-telling of Beauty and the Beast from Beauty's POV, and the writing is just so lyrical I can never get enough of it. I've read it close to 20 times, I think. - For anyone interested in time travel, I also HIGHLY recommend Felix J. Palma's The Map of Time and The Map of the Sky. His version of H.G. Wells is simply amazing!! - For romance lovers, you MUST read Karen Marie Moning. She has traditional time-travel stories as well as darker urban romances, and they are all absolutely brilliant! - Marion Zimmer Bradley's Mists of Avalon series is awesome for Arthurian legend lovers. I know a lot of people just stop

I read Weir's The Wives of Henry the VIII and it was really interesting so now I'll have to read the one of his children..
Have you read any of Robert K. Massie's books? Very well researched to Weir's, you might enjoy them. Highly recommend his Nicholas and Alexandra and his Catherine The Great books
Sweet Valley High! I adored those books as a kid! I always had to check them out from the library and even then only sparingly because my mother absolutely hated them. She called them "junk food books" and constantly spent time trying to get me to read things like The Diary of Anne Frank. I never understood though, like, Mom, why can't I like SVH and Anne Frank?
- What was the last book you read? United We Spy by Ally Carter (Gallagher Girls #6) - Of your favourite books, which one do you like to recommend to people? I actually like recommending classics like Pride and Prejudice and To Kill A Mockingbird because so many people write them off since they're so often put on summer reading lists. - Which ones do you NOT like to recommend to people? Ones that are really close to my heart and mean so much to me that I can't handle it if people dislike them. *cough the book thief cough* And guilty pleasure books such as oh...everything by Sarah Dessen. - Do you still own any books from your childhood? Absolutely! All the books ever given to me from relatives and multiple Bibles because getting rid of a Bible just seems wrong? Like, what do you do with them?? - What are you reading now? Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes and The Secret History by Donna Tartt. - Have you seen any recent movies that were books? I just saw the Vampire Academy movie adaptation and now I have an urge to reread the

I feel the same way about getting rid of Bibles. I have pretty much every Bible I've ever owned and I have no idea what to do with them. Donate them, maybe?
I really have no idea. Mostly I've just been trying to dump them off on my sisters since quite a few of them are from Sunday School when I was like 5, but I've had limited success so far.
- What was the last book you read? I recently re-read Tamora Pierce's "Terrier" the first of the Beka Cooper series which is my faaaaaaaaaaaavourite in all of Tortall - Of your favourite books, which one do you like to recommend to people? The Hunger Games. I have yet to recommend it to someone who didn't like it. - Do you still own any books from your childhood? Yes I own a copy of Little Women where I coloured in the illustrations back when I was 9 or so LOL - What are you reading now? Trickster's Choice by Tamora Pierce I'm also supposed to start the Temeraire series - If you hosted book club, what would you serve? Themed dishes to match the book and cupcakes with themed toppers for desert. So for Wizard's First Rule spice soup, for The Hunger Games lamb stew with plums, the Beka Cooper books pastries, cheese and fresh fruits, HP pumpkin pasties and cauldron cakes etc :)
- What was the last book you read? The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. (super good, very recommended) - Of your favourite books, which one do you like to recommend to people? I usually recommend books depending on what people asking like but I really have a soft spot for YA so Harry Potter and The Hunger Games for sure. - Do you still own any books from your childhood? definitely! i have a few of my original Harry Potters and like Dr Seuss books. I have a lot of fairy tales and such from when I was little too :] - What are you reading now? The Virgin Suicides by Jeffery Eugenides (literally just started) - Have you seen any recent movies that were books? yep I watched Vampire Academy last month i believe? It was actually really good and i definitely recommend reading that series by Richelle Mead. - If you hosted book club, what would you serve? coffee, tea, and loads of snack-y foods.
