On the way home yesterday I finally remembered to call the vet to make an appt for Beau (I know, bad mama). They were able to take him at 6:40pm so we went home scooped him up and headed over to the vets office. We got there early and had to wait a little while until the Doc was available. The apt has been extremely cold as of late. Alix called the clubhouse on Thursday and asked them to come take a look. As of this morning we had still seen no one. I called again today when checking the mail and found a note from management asking us to keep our thermostats at 70 degrees during these really cold days to avoid frozen pipes. I ( Read more... )

Our vacuum died a week ago and rather than trying to fix it we bit the bullet and bought a new one on a whim.  Alix wanted to get the Dyson Animal ($500+) and that was not going to be an option for quite some time, so we went to Best Buy and got the Hoover Windtunnel Bagless.  The canister was easy to remove and the machine seemed heavy which ( Read more... )

Yesterday we received a call from the furniture store we bought our new couch from. It's on back order. BASTARDS. Apparently all the stores in the area work off the same inventory at their warehouse and it is not automatically reconciled. After a 45 minute wait this morning, I cast my ballot for President! There were a lot more Kerry stickers being accepted by voters this morning than I expected. Maybe a good sign.
