My trial pack of cloth nappies just arrived. They are the cutest things ever, although I think our decision to use disposables for the first few weeks is a sensible one, as not only will we be knackered at first, but the nappies do look as though a tiny baby could use them as a tent, and I think that they would swamp a newborn.

I had a fairly busy weekend planned - smorgasbord's birthday party on Saturday and our first NCT ante-natal class in Malton from 10-4 on Sunday. My weekend became a lot busier when I got a phone call from my father on Friday to let me know that my grandmother had gone into hospital again and wasn't expected to last the weekend. Yesterday was my last day at work, and it was pretty enjoyable, all things considered. I had some holiday last week, which coincided wonderfully with the start of the good weather, and managed to get sunburnt in Belfast which is a bit of a miracle. My shower is broken, and I suspect that there must be someone on my friends list who is handier than I am and knows what to do. The cord-pull switch is stuck on "off" and so we can't have hot water for our electric shower. Do I need a plumber? Or an electrician? I love the wild flower lawn/meadow that we planted at the bottom of the garden. For those of you who don't know the house well, out garden is mostly an unattractive area of weed-covered gravel. the autumn before last we planted the meadow, and it is coming up again, as if by magic, for the second time.
