I was just informed, at a meeting about Vanderbilt health care, that my health insurance plan does not cover "repatriation of employee's remains to home country" (actual quote from Powerpoint slide).
This leaves me with several options while traveling abroad:- Keep large amounts of money and/or credit cards stuffed into my underwear.

It's the car I've always wanted and now I have it. I rule!
Devin, Inc. has made some big moves recently.
First, I have bought a car. After a brief and torrid courtship, I am now the proud owner of a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta. Black like the night (as in, when I wear sunglasses). It has a five-speed manual transmission, which I've missed terribly. It is also incredibly fun to drive. I picked it up this ( Read more... ) -
Finally, an entry actually involving clouds
I had a window seat on the flight from Boston to Denver. Halfway through the flight, I was looking out the window and saw a 737 fly past in the opposite direction. The plane wasn't leaving any contrails, but since it was so close and slightly below me, I could see the engine exhaust against the clouds below, a dirty brown against a perfect white ( Read more... ) -
