When we were all young with our fullest hearts
He was quieter than most, fearful of fate
What of girls, made of all fixed, baffling parts?
The signs were clear; everyone assumed him straight
He grew into closeted desire and pride

My favorite is the irst stanza, but I'm glad it had a happy ending.

The intention was brought on by a close friend's first entry for this season of LJ Idol and the recent, huge anti-bullying campaigns from numerous organizations, all of which I agree with and contribute to. Playing with the form just was fun, as I'd researched sonnets earlier and felt it was time to see where I could take that. Thanks for reading and commenting!
