Yogurt!
Sydney loves yogurt. Me and him just shared some. He loved it. I was sad again. -
The Oncologist Appointment
Erich and I took Sydney to a cancer specialist in Los Feliz this Thursday. She examined him and confirmed that there's not a lot we can do for him at this point other than palliative care. His biopsy showed that he has a squamous cell carcinoma and his MRI showed that it's started in on some of his bone. It starts near his mouth and nose on the ( Read more... ) -
Getting Better
Sydney spent all weekend enthusiastically eating small amounts of food every hour or two, even without the appetite stimulant or pain meds. He was also Mister Super-Lovey-Dovey, not just with me and Erich, but with everyone who came by the house. This morning, unmedicated, he ate an entire half-can of cat food on his own ( Read more... ) -
The Dude Abides
Sydney is eating reasonably well and doesn't seem to be in pain, especially with the tramadol. He is obviously uncomfortable with stuff on the right side of his face (where the tumour is), but that might be as much because of his increasing loss of vision as with any kind of pain ( Read more... ) -
Rough Day for Kitties, and me.
This morning we woke up and Sydney had blood coming out of his nose and all over his face. We rushed him to the vet and she cleaned him up, gave him some painkillers and appetite stimulants. He's as OK as a cat with three weeks to live can be. The blood was due to the sample they took for the biopsy yesterday during his MRI ( Read more... ) -
Sad News
Although we are still waiting for the biopsy to confirm it, Sydney most likely has a tumour or cancer. It's not located in an area where it can be realistically removed. The vet guesses 3 - 6 weeks.
There are far more details, but I don't really feel like going over them again right now.

Public Service Announcement
So, tomorrow is April Fools' Day. I just want to remind everyone that telling a lie, then repeatedly insisting it's true when everyone calls you on it isn't so much funny as it is tedious. If you get called out on your gags, accept it gracefully so everyone can have a laugh and move on. -
