Tonight's dish: gluten-free baked mac n' cheese
Tonight I kicked off the cooking initiative with a gluten-free baked mac n' cheese of my own design (well, heavily influenced by a number of other recipes I found). It came out tasting good, though it needed a bit more cheese, a bit more salt, and a bit less milk.

Peter Molyneux bullshit alarm
Why is it that every time I see Peter Molyneux talk, this really big alarm in the back of my mind starts going "FULL OF SHIT! FULL OF SHIT!". Darcs throwing in the towel
So it looks like I have been right for the last two years, and darcs is basically giving up. After the 2.0 release, the maintainer went on record that he will no longer read bug reports or mailing lists, and will only review submitted patches. Plugin problems
So for those that don't know, I spend a large part of my free time working with the Trac project. It is a FOSS project management tool, and comes with a very nice plugin interface and framework. Python Evil
I was arguing with some Python code that used closures, and found it is very hard to manipulate them in inappropriate ways. Not being one to let both good programming practices and simple logic to get in my way, I hacked this together. Using this in production code may incur the wrath of all programmers within a 500 mile radius.

Game builders
It seems simple game-maker-ish tools are on the rise again. In the last few days I have seen new ones from both Microsoft and Cartoon Network. While I like that more of this make-your-own-game-experience attitude, I worry many future designers may be overly locked in to these systems, at least at an ideological level.
