Spectrum in the clouds?
On Monday, as I was driving, I saw a spectrum (the rainbow colors) in the clouds. It was horizontal and took up the span of two outstretched hands (around 36º), it was about 3º high, quite bright and with the red on top ( Read more... ) -

First spring food from the garden
For lunch, we had chef salad with some spring greens from garden. Woot. Ok, technically they were volunteers not planted, but that just means no work other than harvesting (and putting the solar cones out on the garden a few weeks ago). Some call them weeds. I now call them lunch. -

Chocolate sauce.
The other night B brought home _vanilla_ ice cream. Now, I am a big chocolate ice cream fan, vanilla not so much... unless of course you put chocolate sauce on it. Unexpected advantage to composting toilet.
On Sunday, B's Mom broke her leg (tibia and fibula). She is doing well, but we are having her stay with us for a few days. The Hospital tried to send us home with a 'commode' (ick), but I told them I would just elevate the toilet and add some support bars. They looked at me as if I had a third eye.
