Birdie's Routine, Month 7.5

Aug 29, 2021 10:24

It's been a staggering five months since I last summarized Birdie's routine. While some things have stayed the same, other parts have changed pretty substantially, and just for my own memory it would be fun to note what "this is the world right now."

~5:30am Birdie wakes up. M is still handling the night shift, so she gets up and feeds her, changes her and gets her dressed.
~6:30am. M wakes me up and hands Birdie over. We go on a long walk down to the lake most days, weather permitting.
~8:00am. We return home. Time for another diaper change, then Birdie hangs out while I eat breakfast. On workdays, I log in, check my schedule and start doing email while eating.
~8:30am. Birdie goes into the crib, I go into the shower.
~9:00am. Birdie has a bottle, then it's time for work. Birdie hangs out in the " office" or in my lap while I work.
~11:00am. M wakes up, eats breakfast and takes Birdie upstairs.
~12:00pm. After another bottle, Birdie goes down for a nap for a few hours. M showers and does some stuff for herself.
~5:30pm. I log off work. Usually I take over Birdie care, starting her daily solid food. We play for a while, and then she supervises while I make dinner.
~7:30pm. Birdie starts to get tired. M starts the bedtime routine, which most nights results in her being asleep in her room by 8:00pm.
~8:00pm. Grown ups do things that don't involve directly caring for a baby time.
~10:00pm. Grown up bedtime.

Weekends have longer morning walks, and swap in unpaid work for paid work, but are otherwise similar.

Or to summarize:
Birdie mostly doesn't want to nap or sleep.
The grown ups ALWAYS want to nap or sleep.
All else is commentary, go and study.
