Somehow, it's been just shy of 11 years since Tulip came home. To outward appearances, she hasn't changed much. Her face face is mostly white now, but she's still a wall of solid muscle who otherwise looks much the same.

So Tulip has now been to the vet four times in the last three months. The first time was back in January as she had a bad limp that wasn't getting better.

When I bought my home, there was water damage in the kitchen ceiling due to a leak on the flat porch above it. I got it fixed in August 2012. Tulip garnered her name from Tulip O'Hare the primary female character in Preacher. That Tulip is a cold blooded killer. My Tulip thus far hadn't managed to kill anything. Yesterday all of Tulip's stitches from surgery came out. She has to finish the antibiotics course, but that sore is also healed up. She is now effectively cured and cleared for all activities. There are two main changes to her appearance ( Read more... )

Today I took Tulip in to the vet so that they could change the bandage from her surgery and inspect the wound. There's a small sore that concerns them, so they prescribed some antibiotics. Otherwise, things seem to be going well on that front ( Read more... )

Tulip had surgery today. Everything went well. She's a little out of it right now from the anesthetic and having trouble with stairs and the like, but she is otherwise fine. Well, not completely fine. Her hair looks funny because she had to have a patch shaved on her leg for a IV, but that's the worst of it ( Read more... )

While I was in Europe, Tulip stayed in boarding. She had a good time, but when I picked her up they reported that in the last few days she was there a giant lump had appeared just above her knee on her front right leg. 1. I donated platelets on Memorial Day morning. Everything went fine. This was my third attempt of 2015, but the first successful one.
