Dude where to begin.

You're exactly the kind of person I wish all my friends were more like. You're blisteringly honest, you don't make me guess, you don't lie about how awesome things are when your life is kinda in the suck, but you never let that be the end of the story, either. You're a yoga mom, you fight the good fight, and you're one of the people I would most want to bring with me if I had to walk through hell.

I find you difficult to understand sometimes, but I really like that. You're the kind of person that is an interesting puzzlement rather than an irritating unknown. You're friendly and welcoming and graceful and helpful with just a hint of "any time, without warning, I could totally fuck your shit up." I like that.

You have loved me unconditionally for a very long time, regardless of how difficult I know I've made it for you on occasion. You give of yourself so goddamn much without any thought of recompense, and I absolutely love you for it.

Plus, I trust you with my kid. You show occasional lapses in judgement, but you're receptive to criticism...which we raging bitches absolutely adore in a man. :)

I am profoundly jealous of all the talents that you severely under-utilize, and someday I will figure out how to steal them and give them a proper home, you lackadaisical embarrassment of riches.

You're adorable. I don't know how you manage to do that while being a republican gun nut, and I think it's brilliant. You have a great pragmatism and a sense of humor for being disagreed with, which a lot of people lose all too quickly when they feel like they're in the minority. Your heart and soul are amazing.

You're a crazy person. You're a marvel to talk to because you're an absolute conversational snow plow. You're not rude, really, you just know where you're going and, eh, fuck the snow. It's fun to be around. You're also a much sweeter person than I think a lot of people realize. Those monkey wash cloths you gave us for Jamie are still some of my very favorite bis of baby swag, and we use them every night.
