A very, very happy birthday to my sweetie, cliffg59, who was born 50 years ago today, exactly one day after Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

They took my mother in for surgery on Friday at midnight. The operation took two hours and she seems to be doing well. The doctor told her today she would probably be released in "a couple of days" which we're taking to mean Wednesday.
