Just arrived in PDX this morning via Greyhound from Ukiah, which I reached by hitching from Santa Rosa, to which I took a bus after missing the SFO->PDX Greyhound. A bit of a slog, but no regrets. Bordertown is a skatepark built under an overpass in a rough park of west Oakland. It was built entirely by volunteers and the kids who skate there, without any proper permission or backing. CalTrans just discovered it and has made noises about removing it. These are my pictures of it. ( See more... )
