SPECIAL APPLICATIONS Greetings and salutations!
This post is where characters 'apply'/sign up for their jobs of choice. It's pretty simple -- comment on the appropriate thread for your job, and we'll get back to you. Just make sure you comment on the right thread!
(NOTE: If you do not see a comment thread for a certain job, it means that positions at that job are not currently available.)
※ Hatchery GuideAvailability: Positions Currently UnavailableSupervisor of Staff: Fugue
fugue_angel played by ModsDescription: Hatchery guides are the first people that newborns meet upon emerging from their cocoons. Guides are responsible for informing newborns of their situation and what they will need to know to start their new lives in Edensphere. Their primary duty is to equip each new hatchling with clothing, journal, map, a small amount of money, and three weeks' temporary housing. Furthermore, they are to explain the special attributes of the journals in addition to the importance of obtaining employment as soon as is possible. Guides are also responsible for entering all newborns into the centralized records of Edensphere. As this job is of paramount importance, positions are very, very rarely available and only given out at Fugue's discretion. Guides will be approached personally, and applications are not taken.Residential Assignment: Top choice priority--anywhere in Square ZeroCurrent Staff:

※ Guard Availability: Positions Available; Currently HiringGuard Captain: Bastet
felinemystique played by ScathSecond in Command: Bell
grab_my_bells played by PenDescription: The primary duty of the hatchery guard is to protect the Hall of Beginnings from any threat, be it internal or external. They must constantly be on alert and prepared to confront any danger that might threaten the hatchery. They are directly responsible for securing the safety and well-being of the unborn in cocoons, as well as those newly-arrived to Edensphere. Guards are also responsible for escorting newborns to the temporary residences. In addition, the hatchery guard functions as a backup guard for the whole of Square Zero and on the rare occasion that it's necessary may be called on to perform other guard-related duties outside Square Zero. Characters with a fighting background may be interested in this position; however, characters who have a problem with authority or taking orders (especially from someone who may theoretically be younger than they are), or a very low degree of patience or inability to sit still, will find this job to be unsuited to their tastes. Additionally, these jobs will require a personal 'audition' to assess skill level.Residential Assignment: Section 3Current Staff:

stonyfaced played by FeySecond in Command: Handmaiden
ice_echani played by EileenDescription: The Edensphere Watch acts as a police force to keep residents safe from harm. Their job is to patrol the Sphere on a regular basis, and prevent criminal activity when possible. They are working towards creating a legal system that will bring to justice those responsible when crime DOES happen. The Watch often works with the Guard in investigating crimes and protecting residents in times of crisis. Characters who have a background in fighting or police work may find this job suitable. However, they must also be willing to respect authority, obey orders, and be able to deal with the high stress and danger levels that come with the job. Like the Guard, characters who are interested will have their abilities assessed before being accepted.Residential Assignment: Section 3Current Staff:

Medical staff also includes pharmacists and nurses. Medical staff positions require dexterity and a certain degree of bedside manner; as such, characters who are canonly clumsy or brusque may have a difficult time with this job. letmefollow played by LuceDescription: The adventurer groups are essentially responsible for exploring all those areas of the Sphere that are either lightly-traveled or completely untouched. They venture out into the islands of the City Without Walls (especially when a new one shows up) to determine if the lands are fit for resident usage or hold treasures of value. They also explore the Wilderness throughout its frequent changes, determining the relative safety of each terrain change. Adventurers may also work closely with scavengers and tradespeople, in the event that items of use are found. Each group has its own respective leader, to whom the official adventurers report back with their findings. Characters with a strong degree of wanderlust, inability to sit still, insatiable curiosity, or a fighting background may find adventuring appealing. handy_psychic played by ShurimonDescription: The scavenger groups are responsible for searching the Scavengers' Yard and retrieving items that may be of use. Any resident may request a scavenger go down to search for/retrieve particular items; however, said scavengers are under no obligation to return those items in working and/or unbroken condition. Most things in the Yard are in less than perfect shape, so anyone commissioning a scavenger must bear this in mind. To this end, scavengers may work closely with adventurers or tradespersons. Each scavenger group has its own leader, to whom they report back. Characters with a high degree of curiosity, an inability to sit still, or a fascination with tinkering around with things may find this job appealing, as would characters with a fighting background (since you never know if something might decide to attack you).Residential Assignment: Section 1Current Staff:

Naturally, those that do not have PC supervisors are assumed to have NPC supervisors.Description: Merchants are responsible for the sale and trade of items/commodities in Edensphere. The vast majority of merchant shops are located on the Bazaar Ltd Island in the City Without Walls -- the basic shops sell prepared food or organic grocery items, simple clothing, or repaired items found in the Scavengers' Yard. A number of specialty shops are also available, selling books, jewelry, custom clothing, and other useful or desirable items. There are many, many options available with regards to merchant shops, the one caveat being that if a character intends to start their own business they need to raise the capital for it somehow. Whether they do that with a fundraiser, saving their earnings, or via some other means is up to them. Any character could easily work as an assistant in a Bazaar Ltd shop, though characters with little patience, little head for money, or no ability to supervise might have a difficult time actually starting their own business.Residential Assignment: Section 1, but a successful merchant could move upCurrent Staff:ButcherSupervisor: Castor

While there are some generic manual laborers available for hire, many of the tradespeople practice some form of specialty -- whether it be weapons repair, construction, electrical services, or the like. They do a great deal of general repair and restoration within Square Zero and most of the basic handiwork in the City Without Walls. Any character may be a basic manual laborer; those characters who have specialties that may be put to use here can set themselves up as more specific workers.Residential Assignment: Section 1Current Staff:

Because machinery handles the majority of the work, positions are limited; however, an added benefit is that workers are permitted first pick of the surplus crops for themselves. They can be called on by either division of agriculture for any purpose. Because machinery handles most of the manual labor and day-to-day business, positions are limited; however, an added benefit is that workers may take a pick of the surplus product for themselves. Characters with little to no trade-related specialization and a willingness to be outdoors may find this position appealing.Residential Assignment: Section 2Current Staff:
