I have a question.

Please help an uninformed brother out. Why do so many people hate Hillary Clinton so much? Is it sexism, succesful Republican propaganda, or is there something genuinely wrong with her politics? Honestly, the only person who gets as much hate-media at this point is George W.

1) she has not won any purple hearts.
2) she looks like a man.
2.5) she is not a man. This can be labled sexism, but I think it is probalby more the gender roles that our society (and most societies around the world) has had for it's entire existance not counting the last 30 years. Women have always be subservient and reactive, while men have been dominant and pro-active, and with the current hostility of (insert counrty) towards the USA right now, many older people (you know, those people who actually vote) don't think a woman is capable of leading the country the way it needs to be forceably led, even if they don't have the guts to say it in public b/c it's not PC. This is the second biggest reason.
3) she is not Barak Obama. I'm pretty sure this is the biggest reason.

I hate to be nit-picky about this, but male domination didn't exist until around the time that societies began to develop the accumulation of wealth, which wasn't until about 5,000 years ago and not necessarily in all societies. Modern humans have been around for about about 100,000 years...so yeah...while I'm not arguing that male domination hasn't been mostly a fact, I am arguing that it is relatively an extremely recent development and not necessarily what is "natural".

I couldn't help it. I'm taking a class on this sort of thing right now.

ok, we'll say it has been a natural occurance since the development of democracy with the Greeks in ~500 B.C.E.

I can tell you that everyone I've spoken to here is in full support of her presidency, again, as they like to put it.

Unfortunately, no one you've spoken to there can vote in the United States.

I've been really curious about this too. It really does seem like people flat out dislike her. I'm not sure if it's her history, her gender, her association with Pres. Clinton, or just what. It does seem huge, though. And I've read a pronounced lack of support from female democrats. Which you would think would be her primary vote base. Of course, some of these same women are burbling on and on about how "hot" Obama is. Embarassing, really, to think that some women might pick a president based on sex appeal. Scratch that. Make it infuriating ( ... )
