I need some that's straightforward and works well. 

 Andy ordered a mattress last week and they just delivered it.  The thing smells awful, and I'm wondering what kind of chemicals are in it.  CA has some new fire safety law, and I'm concerned about what may be in the mattress.  Is there any way to find out?  I don't usually get weird about things like this, but I am concerned about endocrine ( Read more... )

After all the fuss that's been made about  The Golden Compass, I just had to check it out (esp. since the trilogy was on sale at Costco for $12 -- that's about 1.4 cents a page!).

The funny thing is that we've had such perfect summer weather this past week that it's tempting to stay home...It's been in the low 80s during the day, mid 60s at night, and the crickets are chirping up a storm.  I'm almost tempted to put up a tent in the backyard.
