There was a fair bit of competition and I wasn't betting on getting it. Can't believe how lucky we are!

Being a tutor isn't as cushy as I thought it would be.  Amongst other things, I need to learn how to stop the really talkative students from dominating and taking over the whole time, and how to draw out the really quiet ones from hiding under the radar.  The majority of students do their prep before coming to class, which is a nice surprise.  Most ( Read more... )

The Uni is sending our hard-drives to Brisbane to see if the data could be restored from the effect of the flood.  Bless.

From now on, I am going to back up my data in at least two different places.

Reading "His Needs, Her Needs" by Willard Harley Jr as part of the marriage preparation course.  It's quite enlightening, and demystifies the male psyche somewhat.

I asked a Chinese hair dresser today how much a particular procedure would cost.  He replied, looking quite serious, "$100 plus red packet".  I am puzzled as to how much he is after, and whether it's even a custom.
