This afternoon we hit Stride Rite to get Pip some sneaker-type shoes (they have P.E. twice a week and are supposed to wear appropriate shoes, plus he needs fall shoes). So I pick up one style and am showing the sole to wrog because it makes a reptile footprint, which seemed sort of cool. Went fairly well. Worst incident was he took off his seat belt and bolted out of the bus to the playground as soon as they arrived at school. Not totally safe with parents dropping kids off, etc. The solution is a harness that clips to the bus seat and the driver keeping the door shut until his aide is there ( Read more... )

Check out the 5th photo here. He was a little confused by the whole thing and dropped the needles, so we had to gather them up again for a photo. By then he *really* had no idea what was going on, hence the "Mama? Huh?" expression on his face... Also, that's kathrynt's arm at the right edge of the photo.

Pip has had a cold for most of the last week, Wm and I have gotten it this week. First cold for him, at night the runny nose seems to set off a "can't breathe" panic that wakes him even when he can breathe fairly well ( Read more... )

kathrynt and I spent some time today at a huge fiber stash and equipment estate sale. To get an idea of the scope, the woman owned seven spinning wheels, I saw at least half a dozen "real" looms (some floor looms and table looms) and a similar number of frame looms (tapestry, triangle, etc.).
