Almost there!
So I just received my PPR test scores from February and I passed with more than flying colors! I don't mean to brag, but if I had missed only two less, I would have had a perfect score. I am so close to being certified by the state of Texas that I can taste it. Almost there! -

I am ready for spring break. I plan to go to College Station to visit Ben. I've been very tired lately trying to make sure everything is in order. I have my Pedagogy test this coming Saturday. Without meaning to be a copycat.
That saddens me that Heath Ledger is dead. Being an avid watcher of Intervention, I imagine that drugs are the cause. I guess I should feel thankful that drugs and/or alcohol haven't caught up to me yet. I imagine it's only a matter of time, though. I can imagine why drugs/alcohol are the better choice. -

I passed my ELAR 8-12 test! Yay! The only thing that stands between myself and certification is the pedagogy test.

2008??
I can't decide what I feel about 2008. I'll be skiing over the next few days. I think I feel that 2008 will be better than 2007. -
A Tale of Two Cities can bite my ass
So now that I have reviewed the novel on my own and actually understand it as an adult, it makes it that much worse to remember what it was like as a teenager. My students are so completely befuddled by the novel that I spent six hours today (3 separate periods) reading three chapters out loud. I still catch up on livejournal, but I hardly ever update because I am SOOO freaking busy! I was ON CRACK the day I decided to be an English teacher. I have a little more than 100 freshmen (and 23 sophomores) and I had the gall to assign an essay. Dear jesus, that took forever. However, they were very much improved from their first essays. I hate making these posts. This is the hardest one I've had to make. I couldn't make it until now because I keep waiting for him to call and tell me it's all a joke. First week of school.
I love teaching! My students are so good! I get to lecture about literary elements and The Red Badge of Courage. I think my students like me. They always say goodbye and they tell me I am their favorite teacher. Yes, that makes me feel self righteous. I would hate to be the hated teacher. Though, I do give a lot of homework.
