Saw new specialist today (physiatrist). He says he isn't completely convinced I have fibromyalgia. One of the blood tests that was done a few weeks ago shows that there is some kind of inflammation going on (the factor is 30 times too high). He's going to hook me up with a new rheumatologist that he works with, and see about doing some more testing ( Read more... )

I'm going to define it so it will stop defining me.

I have hit the rock bottom pit of despair with this thing today. I can barely walk and I feel like a prisoner. The emotional component has got to pass soon so I can just deal objectively with the pain.

Last weekend one of my neighbors offered to take me along to the supermarket. I readily agreed. Once there, I discovered she didn't need to shop. The trip was entirely for me. She pushed my cart, sacked my groceries and carried them to my kitchen. I've known this lady for a few years; we work in the same building, but mainly just get together when ( Read more... )

My rheumatologist diagnosed me with fibromyalgia yesterday. I'm a little freaked out. Partly because she absolutely refused to give me any hope that things will change in the forseeable future. No use of the arms yesterday morning. Use of left arm and hand by noon. Limited use of right by 5pm ( Read more... )

Okay, so last night I suddenly realized I couldn't lift my left arm. The muscles just didn't work at all. I could get my hand about five inches from my thigh, and then the muscles just cut out on me.
