• Well, we switched back to the phone company for our phone service, which seems to me to be just a little too obvious. We also went with them for internet access (FIOS), which promises to let me download stuff faster than I would even want to (I'm getting 700MB of a linux distribution in about 30 minutes). It still seems like it could be faster.

First off, the good news

1. Sleek, slim, nice to hold, brilliant... but enough about me. All those things (also) apply to the iPhone. I was sitting here using the screen, then I realized that I only had the brightness turned up halfway. So, in a pinch, you could probably hard boil an egg at thirty paces with it set on the highest setting.

You know, if we only had some medium through which we could ferry digital moving pictures around the world, I'd really be enjoying this season of Doctor Who. The past three episodes in particular would have been incredibly strong.

• The other day, I was putting my older daughter (2.5) into her carseat. A Corvette convertible pulls up in the next space over. She says, "Oooh! Look at the car! Hiiiiiiiiiiii!"
