Siwon felt as if they had been driving for hours. He’d been following Zhou Mi’s instructions and they didn’t seem to be going anywhere familiar. Attempts at conversation had been sparse; Zhou Mi unwilling to talk. Siwon had attempted to convince the other to turn back only to be told to drive.

Again and again.

“Zhou Mi please let me turn back, I can convince the others to give you-“

“Siwon will you just shut up and fucking drive.”

He was startled when the other swore, it sounded completely out of character for the Chinese man.

“This isn’t like you at all! What did-“

“What part of shut up do you not get?”

Siwon frowned, his gaze staring intently on the road.

“I just want to help you.”

“I don’t need it. Stop asking questions and preaching to me or I’ll kill the both of you now.”

“Then why are you keeping us alive?”

“Drive.”

He could sense that he had pushed the line; Zhou Mi’s sudden tense at his words told him enough. He glanced up at the rear view mirror, Kyuhyun still unconscious in the back.

“I’m worried about Kyuhyun

“Don’t you care about Kyuhyun at least?! You’ve known him for two years and you really feel no remorse for this?”

“Don’t talk as if you know me.” Siwon gripped the wheel tightly. “I’m not saying I do. I’m just trying to understand why.” He tilted his head slightly to look at Zhou Mi from the corner of his eye. The other man didn’t show any change of emotion and instead held the blank expression he had earlier.

“I suggest you stop-“

Zhou Mi stopped mid-sentence when a low groan could be heard. Siwon’s eyes immediately went to the rear-view mirror and felt the worry from earlier fade slightly when Kyuhyun sat up. He sat up and ran a hand through his hair looking slightly dazed.

“Siwon? Mi? I had the weirdest dream. I swear to God, Zhou Mi was actually scary and…”

Kyuhyun trailed off his eyes staring at the gun Zhou Mi had aimed at Siwon.

“It wasn’t a dream.”

“I’d keep quiet if I were you Kyuhyun.”

Siwon frowned at the frightened look that appeared at the cold tone. Nevertheless Kyuhyun seemed to swallow his fear and continued talking.

“Mi, please tell me why you’re doing this! If its money or someone’s blackmailing you just tell us!”

Siwon remained quiet as he saw the grip on the gun tighten.

“I really suggest you shut up.” Kyuhyun suddenly moved forwards as if to shake some sense into the other.

“Not until you tell me why you’re acting like this-!”

Kyuhyun was interrupted when Zhou Mi suddenly shot at the window closest to Siwon. The car veered dangerously as Siwon flinched, closing his eyes for a moment to avoid any glass.

“SIWON! Are you okay?” He nodded slowly, still somewhat shocked at the sudden gunshot. His hands were shaking on the steering wheel. “…Y-Yes.”

“Zhou Mi! Why did you do that?! You could have really hurt him and-“

“Consider that your last warning. Shut up. Both of you.”

Kyuhyun didn’t make a sound when the gun was cocked again although he looked like he wanted to say something. Zhou Mi continued to look blank and unfazed that if he had aimed just a few centimetres to the left it would have killed him.

Siwon tried to focus on nothing but driving. His heart thudded erratically from fear. He had to calm down. After all he still had the secret device hidden in his jacket. Just a little more time and the others would be able to find them.

None of them spoke. The rest of the drive continued in tense silence as each of them was lost in their own thoughts.

--

They reached an old and weather beaten looking bungalow. It looked tiny and only seemed to have one room. Siwon was right as they stepped in.

Inside was sparse and empty. There was an old looking futon on the left side and in the middle was an old, dusty table with a few dirty glasses, one had revolting green water in it (at least Siwon hoped it was water) and there was a sturdy looking chair next to the table.

Siwon gripped Kyuhyun’s hand tightly. He knew the other was trying to look strong but he’d seen the fear when Zhou Mi had shot at him.

“…damn didn’t think to grab them.” The soft mumbling from Zhou Mi was the only thing that filled the silence that had befallen them. He was startled when Mi suddenly pushed him. The stumble made his leg throb in pain as the wound flared. He let go of Kyuhyun’s hand as he caught the table. It creaked dangerously and the glass cups on the table moved slightly, the ominous liquid spilling over.

“Tie him up, onto the chair.” Siwon stood shakily and watched as a long piece of rope was thrown to the brunette.

“M-Mi, I’m not sure I…” Kyuhyun trailed off as Siwon slowly, being careful of his leg, sat down on the chair his hands moving behind it so the other could tie them. “It’s okay Kyu.” He could tell Zhou Mi was watching them intently, the gun still an immediate threat. Kyuhyun moved hesitantly towards him, his hands unsure as they pulled the rope over his wrists.

“Make sure they’re tight or I won’t hesitate to hurt him. I’ll check them in a moment.” At Zhou Mi’s words Siwon felt the ropes tighten considerably. Kyuhyun moved to stand near the table, his hands slightly shaking. Zhou Mi didn’t speak before moving closer with another piece of rope, now that he was incapable of moving Kyuhyun would prove to be easy enough to subdue.

He watched in horror as instead of easy compliance, Kyuhyun reared up and head-butted Zhou Mi the gun fell with a clatter to the side from the impact. As the other man was stumbling Kyuhyun reached for one of the glass and smashed it; his hand reaching for the shards before moving towards the ropes.

“Fuck. It’s not working!”

Siwon felt the ropes begin to give when suddenly he felt the warmth from Kyuhyun disappear. He twisted his head to watch as Zhou Mi punched Kyuhyun hard. His heart tightening at the pained sound from the younger he pulled as hard as he could finally breaking free from the restraint. He stood up and tackled Zhou Mi. He was surprised at how strong the other was when he found himself being flipped over and a punch aimed at him. Siwon rolled breaking free from the grip. His heart pounding as adrenaline shot through him. Moving to stand he saw the gun near the door. He ran to pick it up only to feel Zhou Mi grip his injured leg causing him to trip and curl up in pain. He watched in horror as the taller man easily stepped over him to pick up the gun.

As he waited for the gunshot a sudden movement behind Zhou Mi caught his attention. Kyuhyun. The man looked dazed, no doubt a combination from the head wound earlier and the powerful punch. He moved unsteadily looking as if he was planning to tackle Zhou Mi. The Chinese man gave an empty smile at Siwon and turned his gun aimed at Kyuhyun.

Siwon felt his heart stop at the gun shot.

“Kyuhyun!” The other seemed to collapse into a heap on the floor.

He dragged himself towards Kyuhyun ignoring the increasing pain from his leg, praying that he hadn’t re-opened the wound too badly. Siwon breathed a sigh of relief at no sign of a wound. He cradled the other who looked like he was in shock.

“Siwon…” Shaking his head, Siwon ran a comforting hand through the soft hair. Leaning in close he gave a sigh of relief. “It’ll be okay. I promise you.” His whispered words seemed to calm Kyuhyun who closed his eyes for a moment. Siwon prayed his team mates had figured it out.

“Damn it! Are you guys trying to make me kill you?” Zhou Mi looked angry as he hobbled slightly, the punch from earlier already blooming. He felt Kyuhyun tense at the voice. Siwon angled himself to cover Kyuhyun as much as possible; his face flinching slightly at the twinge of protest from his leg.

“I should kill you guys now-“

However before Zhou Mi could finish a voice echoed loudly.

“Zhou Mi we know you’re in there. You’re surrounded. Release your prisoners and come out.”

Siwon watched as Zhou Mi gaped at the unmistakable voice of Kangin outside.

“H-how did they find us?” The taller man barely reacted when Siwon shakily stood pulling Kyuhyun up with him.

“Thanks to ‘Zeus’.” Siwon held up the tracker Zeus had given him earlier. Zhou Mi’s grip on his gun tightened as he stepped closer.

“Just give up Zhou Mi.”
