I wonder where Lifehouse is now.

The 19th Thanksgiving of my existence is thankfully over. This year it wasn't nearly as bad as other years, usually Thanksgiving is my least favorite holiday because of family dysfunction, but as we all get older we all get more mature and so Thanksgiving is more fun. I'm back in Ames for good now, too. I'm going to be finishing up the semester ( Read more... )

Lifehouse, isn't that the original idea Pete Townsend had when he ended up making Who's Next?

Also, Michigan > Illinois.

I was referring to the band that had the one hit "Hanging By A Moment"

Ricky - You've kept me "hanging by a moment" all this term, and so I've been listening to a lot of Lifehouse. Pretty much my favorite band, especially when you consider the underrated track "Quasimodo."

good luck with your transferring business, ricky. college is hard enough and its even harder when you're not sure you're in the right place at all. and you know, if being back in ames doesn't work out you can always transfer somewhere else. no shame in it at all.

anyway, hope to see you around sometime and this only solidifies my nagging feeling that its time for me to give common a listen.

Common is the kind of rap that someone who listens to jazz will like.

"Common Free Style" by the RH Factor is pretty much the greatest jazz-rap song of all time.

I bet you'll do fewer drugs now that you're back in Ames.

I feel obligated to say fuck Sufjan, just on general principles. I hate every song by him that I've heard not to give him a second chance.

Chris Voss burned me "Be" and it was so good it made me not hate Chris Voss anymore. Gets my vote for the best rap cd of the year, because Kanye West is annoying.

I can't stand Kanye West. Does that make me a bad person?

Kanye is a man with some absolutely ridiculous political ideas, and he's very easy to dislike, but even if I wanted to dislike him, I can't get past the fact that he's an absolute musical genius. Also, he makes some damn catchy music, which is an underrated quality.
