My car went to the shop today. 5 minutes before closing time, not having heard from them, I called to see if they knew what was wrong yet. I need a new EGR valve, which is what controls the circulation of emissions back into the engine to reduce the production of nitrogen oxides. Just so y'all know, Aaron and I have the best dog ever. Like, seriously. She housetrained herself. She loves cuddles but is chill just doing her own thing. She gives face kisses very sparingly. Pictures are forthcoming. You must all come meet her (but only one or two at a time--she's shy around strangers).

I spent almost all of yesterday dyeing the fabric for my Halloween costume. I got all the stuff for the dress proper dyed, and it came out *perfectly.* I'm so pleased. I really nailed the woad-like colors, and the gradient is exactly what I wanted. I'll definitely be using this method for gradient-type stuff in the future. Here's what I have ( Read more... )

Somewhere around here, a nest of baby squirrels just got old enough to go out and play. Their bodies are tiny, and their heads very slightly disproportionately large. One of them is checking out my herbs on the front porch, and I want to cuddle it so badly.
