I ran into an old gaming buddy at the bus stop today. As my eastbound bus was pulling up to the stop, I noticed someone that looked familiar at my transfer bus stop. So, I'm Boston to visit Tingting, but she's in Seattle doing an interview. I still find this to be amusing.

I was recently accepted to an NSF program that will send me to New Zealand for two months this summer. I'm incredibly excited to go back to Wellington, although I'm less excited that it will be winter. Also, I had a tutorial proposal accepted for a conference in Cyprus in July, but I'm not sure I'll be able to go because of this New Zealand program ( Read more... )

I'm still feeling a bit jet-lagged, but I've made it to and from Great Britain and had a generally good time at that. Spent a few days in London with my cousins and my girl, and then went on a whirlwind tour of the rest of England and Scotland in about 4 days. Perhaps it was a bit too much travel packed into a bit too small a time window.

I thought I was going crazy last night. I thought for sure that I woke up and felt an earthquake but no one was reporting about it on the internet or on TV, so then I assumed that it was all a crazy dream. This morning, latimes.com has vindicated me! I'm not crazy!!

I just got my clarinet back from getting serviced (recorking/padding, checking out the mechanisms) and I realized after I was done playing for a little bit that my swab is missing!
