The next day Miles was waiting for Alicia in her apartment. He made her believe he was leaving for good by leaving her alone the night before as requested. He packed his belongings and headed to Marcus' house - opting not to rejoin Terence at his apartment because he was part of Miles' plan to get Alicia back. He didn't want to ruin anything by showing up with his bags. He knew that this time he wouldn't be able to avoid all the burning questions he would surely have.
Once Alicia got off from work, she returned home and was getting ready to take a shower when she noticed she wasn't alone. She had company waiting for her in the living room.
"What is everyone doing here?" she asked, glaring at Miles and Marietta in particular. She couldn't believe they were both in her apartment. She couldn't keep the look of shock off her face.
"I brought them here. We all need to sit down and talk."
"No, we don't. There is nothing to discuss."
"Actually Miles is right. We need to clear the air," Marietta spoke up. Originally she wasn't going to say anything because she didn't want to anger Alicia further, but she also knew that this was the perfect time to discuss the Miles situation with Alicia. Marietta felt awful about seeing him behind Alicia's back and she wanted to apologize for her horrendous behavior.
"I don't even know why I'm here," Terence added.
"You're here to witness this disaster," Alicia retorted. It was meant to be a guess, not a statement of fact.
"Alicia, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I slept with Miles and ruined your relationship. He doesn't mean anything to me and I truly don't know why I did it. I wish I could say I knew why, but that would be a lie. You don't deserve to be lied to anymore. You deserve the truth."
Alicia took a few steps forward and slapped Marietta. Marietta didn't flinch. She knew she deserved it. She wasn't completely to blame. Miles was equally responsible. She hoped that Alicia knew that.
"Get out of my house," she told Marietta, who left without protest.
Miles shifted his weight from foot to foot. This talk wasn't turning out like he hoped nor expected.
