Pirate died today. :'(

I will be rather erratic online for the foreseeable future until things settle down and I've sorted out everything that his death entails (Funeral and finances etc.).

And I have come to the conclusion that the NHS is trying to kill Pirate. First he has to eat a low sugar diet because of his Diabetes, then it's a low salt and no fat diet because of his heart. Now it's a low potassium diet because of his Kidneys ( Read more... )

Or, more to the point, a short bit about the fact that Pirate is no longer having to visit three different clinics for his heart problem. The yearly doctor one is now cancelled unless there is a drastic change in his condition. Also the monthly HF clinic is cancelled as the remaining clinic (the Perhexiline clinic) can keep an eye on his health ( Read more... )

Pirate had his diabetic check up today and the nurse is very pleased with him. His average blood sugars has been 8.2 so, even with all the hypo's he's had, he's good :D Now we just have to wait until Thursday to find out why the doctor wanted him to have more blood tests and then go see him!?!
