If you haven't read anything by Jasper Fforde (yes, I meant Fforde, not Forde), you might want to give him a look. "The Eyre Affair" was nothing short of brilliant, and the two follow up books were fantastic. I'm reading the third follow up now.

Holy tired, batman. Woke up this AM to go respond to a house fire that left four families out of their houses (due to electrical issues moreso than the fire, the houses are salvagable, no gifts burned up). There have been precious few moments in my life lately where I have sat down and been truly still. Still in mind more than anything else. Tonight, I had one of those moments, and it was a very, very pleasant experience. I recommend them to anyone.

Today was the Children's Rehab party hosted at the children's hospital by the RCMP. Red Cross sent along a few volunteers to give out Teddy Bears to go with the regular presents. On top of the other things going on right now, I think either I've picked up a piece of software that's making my computer puke (doubt that) or my RAM is going bad (more likely). I'm getting random failures and reboots all the time, Error Messages, and blue screens of death all the time. It's odd, because I've *always* had good experiences with XP ( Read more... )

My grandmother isn't coping with Dolph's death well at all. She's losing her mental faculties - we've had to tell her *twice* now that Dolph died, and she becomes incredibly upset all over again.
