Time doesn't magically fix everything. I've had this Jack Johnson song stuck in my head all day:

I'm waiting for her to open the box and let me know if my cat is dead.

Sometimes I need to remember to think about things that don't need much thinking. Like my lungs, mitochondria, sanity, etc. Sometimes intellectual exercise is not what they need. The knowledge and acceptance of pain to come before the romance even starts just destroys me. It's so real.

Isn't it great when feelings are mutual? Not even romantic feelings. Just, "I know you used to have a thing for me and I used to have a thing for you but it isn't like that anymore and we're both preoccupied with other people but isn't it nice to just hold hands and cuddle while watching bad tv shows and aren't you glad we're finally comfortable ( Read more... )

I'm alive. I spent a good portion of two hours dancing to techno instead of doing Stat. Completely forgetting that 24 hours ago a grad student was shot and killed on my campus.
