Johnny's wedding weekend
I'm in Louisville, but so far all I've seen is the expressway and the inside of our hotel. I hope to get time to explore a little more tonight or tomorrow. -
cars = pain
I'm at work, and it's S L O W.
The car is getting worked on, which I'm guessing is going to cost us another $300-ish, so I'm glad we got a couple hundred bucks knocked off the asking price when we bought it.

I attended the midnight mass at the cathedral of St. Andrew last night, as the last Advent service at Mars Hill was canceled and I wanted to realign my focus to God during the last bit of Christmas Eve. Josh and I made the trek today out to my parents' house to do our laundry and decorate our traditional Christmas cookies, even though the "authorities" have advised everyone not to go out unless it's completely necessary. ice skating
The outdoor ice arena downtown opened for the season yesterday. Josh and I headed to Monroe Center to get some dinner, and we were going to pick up AJ afterward for ice skating, but then we realized we'd never get a parking spot again if we left. I miss writing. Even the blurbs I post here are a little bit therapeutic, and writing helps me think, so I'm going to try to get back into the habit. We sang "O Come O Come Emmanuel" at Advent service last night. It was beautiful. There was just one person singing and playing this gorgeous, simple piano accompaniment, and all of us singing along - I love it when music is like that. I need to get some batteries or find an adapter for my keyboard so I can play again ( Read more... ) -

found a car
If everything goes as planned, later today we will be the owners of a 2002 Saturn L300.
It's been a long week of car searching, and at this point I'm just glad we found something newer in our price range that wasn't bought by the person who looked at it before us.
And more importantly, IT IS CAROLYN'S BIRTHDAY!
