I just realized it's raining and my bike is outside. The other day I was riding home from Carolyn's new place and the left gearshift assembly sort of... fell apart. I think it still works, but it dangles and jingles and I'm afraid the whole thing is going to fall off. And now it's getting rained on. Yesterday Josh and I went out to dinner before the Foo Fighters concert to celebrate me being newly debt-free, and right before we left I got a call from Goodwill/Americorps informing me that I got the job I applied for! I found a spot of unsecured wireless in the study. Because of this, I was able to find out via email that I might have an interview soon for a full-time job, which would be fantastic for our finances but terrible for my jam-making and bike-riding. Last night Josh and I caught the very tail-end of the weekly Wednesday cookout that serves our neighborhood at the tiny church on the corner. Our neighbor gave us a box of leftovers to take home, but before we even got out of the parking lot we were assailed by a mass of children asking if they could have the various foods we'd been given. the current state of things
Living in GR has been good thus far - Tuesday I bought a bike on craigslist for 25 bucks, and Carolyn came with me to pick it up from a guy's house in Kentwood. Once I get a lock and a helmet I'm planning on riding it downtown a lot. (I already got a parking ticket because I neglected my meter for too long one day).
